Section 47:FUTURE FARMERS OF AMERICA

The Future Farmers of America (FFA) is a national organization of students enrolled in high school vocational agriculture classes. The local unit is the chapter in each high school offering vocational agriculture, under the supervision of the agriculture teacher who is always the local chapter advisor. The California Association of FFA includes all chapters within the state, under the supervision of the Agriculture Education Unit in the State Department of Education in Sacramento. The National FFA organization includes all chapters in every state, Puerto Rico, Guam, and the Virgin Islands, under the supervision of the United States Department of Education, Washington, D. C. Every FFA member has a Supervised Agriculture Experience (SAE) in agriculture production, agriculture business, or agriculture research. The SAE is part of the practical education of the agriculture student. The FFA mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of students through agriculture education.
