Section 44:JUNIOR LIVESTOCK--SHOWMANSHIP

ENTRY FORMS DUE: Friday, August 15, 2008
JUDGING BEGINS: See page 5 for times

1. Only animals, owned, fitted and shown by the exhibitor in the Junior Department Livestock classes are eligible. (Horses in the Light Horse Division are eligible.)
2. Entries in Showmanship MAY BE made on the entry form prior to the deadline date, and exhibitors must be on hand and ready to exhibit at the time called for judging. Showmanship entries will be accepted up to 15 minutes prior to showmanship classes.
3. Showmanship (except Light Horse and Dairy Goat Division) will start promptly at 8:30 a.m., Saturday, September 13, 2008, 2008.
4. Jr. Dairy Goats Showmanship will start promptly at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 12, 2008.
5. NOTE: All exhibitors will be required to wear the official show uniform of the organization they represent.
6. When handling a horse in showmanship classes, an approved ASTM/SEI helmet must be worn.
7. Exhibitors in first year of project of each species of animal. FFA members who show the same species in a 4-H project are not eligible to show Novice Showmanship in that species, but may enter the FFA Advanced Showmanship class. The same applies to a 4-H member who has shown FFA Novice Showmanship, may enter 4-H Intermediate or Advanced Showmanship in that species.
8. No Bulls, Boars, Rams, or Stallions permitted in showmanship.
9. No sick animals may be shown in showmanship.
10. 4-H members in the Younger Member Program in Poultry or Rabbits will enter the Primary Showmanship Division. The winner will not compete in Round Robin.
