Section 38:JUNIOR LIVESTOCK--SHEEP

DEADLINE FOR LIVESTOCK ARRIVAL: 10:00 p.m., Thursday, September 11,2008
FEEDING TIME: 6:00 - 8:30 a.m., daily
RELEASE TIME: 7:00 p.m., Sunday, September 14, 2008 ENTRY FEE $1.50

1. Limited to members of chapters or clubs residing in Humboldt, Lake and Mendocino Counties and in Sonoma County.
2. SPECIAL REGISTERED SHEEP AWARD: The Mendocino-Lake Wool Growers Association will award a trophy to a boy or girl in 4-H or FFA for the herdsmanship and the best breeding flock. This will be based on cleanliness, neatness and information of their breed - also the sportsmanship and showmanship of the exhibitor. The official judge of the Junior Show will give the sole decision for selecting the exhibit.
3. LIMIT: Not more than 8 animals per exhibitor per division. Flock numbers shall be used to identify all entries. Numbers shall be on regular and practical tags attached to the ear or tattooed in the ear. An exhibitor may not use the same flock number on more than one animal during any two consecutive calendar years.
4. REGISTRATION NUMBERS MAY NOT BE USED AS FLOCK NUMBERS. Flock numbers and breeder's initials, name or association prefix shall be on regular and practical tags attached to the ear or tattooed in the ear for YEARLINGS AND LAMBS BRED BY THE EXHIBITOR. LAMBS MUST SHOW LAMB'S TEETH.
5. This year marks the eleventh year for the Floyd Johnson Memorial Supreme awards for the Ewe and Ram perpetual trophy sponsored by Laura Baynham and Albert ``Sam" Prather. Champion Ewes and Rams will be the contestants. Judging will be after the junior sheep judging on Saturday.

1. Grade crossbred and unregistered purebred range sheep to be judged strictly on a range sheep basis.
2. A permanent ear tag or tattoo number is required. Birth date must be on entry.
3. Animals which have been registered by a purebred association cannot be entered in this Division. 4. BY HIS/HER SIGNATURE AS THE OWNER OR AGENT ON AN ENTRY FORM THE EXHIBITOR ALSO CERTIFIES THAT THE SIRE OF EACH ANIMAL ENTERED IN THE FOLLOWING DIVISIONS FOR GRADE ANIMALS WAS EITHER REGISTERED OR PUREBRED.
