Section 37:JUNIOR LIVESTOCK--DAIRY GOATS

DEADLINE FOR LIVESTOCK ARRIVAL: 10:00 p.m., Thursday, September 11,2008
JUDGING BEGINS: with Showmanship 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 12, 2008

FEEDING TIME: 6:00 - 8:30 a.m. daily
RELEASE TIME: 7:00 p.m., Sunday, September 14, 2008

  1. Open to members of chapters or clubs residing in Humboldt, Lake, Mendocino and Sonoma Counties. (See local rule 3).
  2. The exhibitor must own all registered purebred and grade-breeding animals for 60 days prior to the opening date of the Fair.
  3. A permanent ear tag or tattoo number is required.
  4. American Dairy Goat Assn. (ADGA) rules shall govern.
  5. Juniors are eligible for the ADGA Open Dairy Goat show if they first enter and compete in the Junior Goat Show and officially enter the Open Dairy Goat Show by the entry form deadline. Juniors will not jeopardize their Junior status by entering at this or any other State or County Fair in California.
  6. SPECIAL AWARD sponsored by Georgia Hammerich for top placing Nigerian Dwarf exhibited by a JUNIOR. To be eligible exhibitor has to enter and show in the open dairy goat show.

  1. Must have a Certificate of Registry (Blue Border) issued by the American Dairy Goat Association; or
  2. Must have a Certificate of Registry of Purebred issued by the American Dairy Goat Society.
