- Work submitted must have been completed since the conclusion of the last Mendocino County Fair and Apple Show, Sunday, September 16, 2007.
- Paintings and photographs must be COMPLETELY ORIGINAL - that is, they must not have been copied in whole or in part from any previously existing picture or photographs. The sole exception would be the use of a photograph made by the exhibiting artist himself.
- Kit products and/or projects are not acceptable.
- State and Local Rules and Regulations heretofore contained governing exhibitors and exhibits will also govern all exhibitors and exhibits in this department.
- The management shall reserve the right to vacate, as ineligible for competition, any entry, which is not in the best interest of the Fair or is deemed inappropriate for family viewing.
- All pictures must be ADEQUATELY FRAMED AND READY FOR HANGING (screw eye attached), not more than 48 inches in length or width. Only THOROUGHLY DRY oil paintings will be accepted.
- Consult the appropriate division for when ENTRY FORMS AND EXHIBITS ARE DUE. No entries will be accepted by the Fair Office.
- Exhibits will be accepted at the Home Arts/Fine Arts Building, Wednesday September 3 thru Thursday, September 4, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.. NO EXHIBITS WILL BE ACCEPTED BEFORE OR AFTER THESE DATES. Exhibits will be judged Saturday, September 6.
- Honorable Mentions awarded at the discretion of the Judges.
- Prizes are awarded at the discretion of the judges and their decision shall be considered final. The awarding of prizes may be withheld if work submitted is not of sufficient merit.
- The BEST OF SHOW award winner is INELIGIBLE to compete for Best of Show two years in succession.

- The Professional divisions are open to those exhibitors who have shown their work professionally for purchase by the public and who have received profits above the price of materials. This does not include the cash prize of premium awards for exhibition.
- All exhibits must be COMPLETELY ORIGINAL, that is, they must not have been copied in whole or part from any previously existing picture. Class work is not acceptable.
- Carefully read all rules governing Arts and Crafts Department preceding this Division.

- LIMIT: 3 Entries Per Exhibitor Per Class
- Open to those who engage in Arts and Crafts work as a hobby or for the love of the work. Amateurs are those who have not shown to the public at a gallery, library, bank, etc.
- All exhibits for awards must be the work of residents of Lake, Humboldt, Mendocino Counties and those residing within the boundaries of the Cloverdale School District in Sonoma County.
- Carefully read rules governing the Fine Arts Department.
