Section 19:FLORICULTURE - GARDEN FEATURE EXHIBITS

ENTRY FORMS DUE: Friday, August 15, 2008
EXHIBITS MUST BE COMPLETED BY: 8:00 pm, Wednesday, September 10, 2008
JUDGING BEGINS: 9:00 a.m., Friday, September 12, 2008
RELEASE TIME: Monday, September 15, 2008

THEME: ``Country Garden"

  1. All exhibits must present a fresh and neat appearance and add materially to the beauty of the show. Fresh plant material is required in all exhibits. Largest percentage of plants used in booths must be rooted. Where large size plants are not readily moved in large container, then cut fresh materials may be substituted.
  2. Garden Exhibits MUST be completed with major construction and clean-up by 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 10, 2008 or be disqualified from judging. Minor adjustments or rearranging is allowed on Thursday. Please plan ahead and utilize the existing dirt effectively; there may be no more available. Following this year's theme is expected.
  3. All exhibits in this Division must display their names on a suitable sign over 7" x 24" AFTER judging is completed.
  4. Any garden exceeding the maximum size will be disqualified from judging. No alcoholic beverages are to be on premises during garden preparations. Offending exhibitors will be disqualified from competition.
  5. ALL APPLICABLE LOCAL AND STATE RULES APPLY. RULE BOOKS AVAILABLE AT THE FAIR OFFICE.
  6. SPECIAL NOTE: A display map should be on exhibit; however, the map itself will not be judged on its artistic presentation, but on its educational value.
