ENTRY FORMS DUE (excluding Gardens): Friday, August 15, 2008
EXHIBITS DUE: 10:00 p.m., Thursday, September 11,2008; Gardens Completed by 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 10, 2008
JUDGING BEGINS: 9:00 a.m., Friday, September 12, 2008
RELEASE TIME: 7:30 p.m., Sunday, September 14, 2008 for Walk-out

  1. Limited to residents of Lake, Humboldt, Mendocino Counties and those residing within the boundaries of the Cloverdale School District in Sonoma County.
  2. Entry forms for Garden Entries due in office Friday, August 15, 2008. Garden Exhibits MUST be completed and/or in place by 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 10, 2008 or the entry will be disqualified from judging. Removal of gardens must be completed by Wednesday, September 17, 2008, 2008. Items left after this date are no longer the responsibility of the Fair and the exhibitor may be charged for removal.
  3. Exhibits in the Floriculture Department must have been grown by the exhibitor within the county, district or community represented by the exhibitor, except classes for arrangements. Florists and nurseries may exhibit plants, plant materials and flowers that they may currently sell but do not necessarily grow.
  4. EXHIBITS MUST BE ADEQUATELY AND CORRECTLY LABELED
  5. The State and Local Rules and Regulations heretofore contained, governing exhibits and exhibitors, will also govern all exhibits and exhibitors in this department.
  6. All flowers and plants exhibited by an individual must be the bona fide property of the exhibitor. All potted plants must have been in the exhibitor's possession for at least 60 days. All flowers or plants exhibited by an organization or group must be in the bona fide property of members of said organization or group.
  7. Containers will be furnished for Divisions 68 through 76 - Specimen Divisions.
  8. Planter boxes, Division 79 , should contain well established plants, no figurines.
  9. All other containers and accessories to be furnished by the exhibitor and must meet with approval of the management.
  10. Unsightly containers will not be permitted.
  11. Mark your containers. The Fair provides every possible protection, but will not be responsible for lost or stolen articles.
  12. The judge will award first, second, or third place, etc., according to merit; if without merit, the judge will make no award under any circumstances. This rule applies whether there are one or more entries in the class.
  13. All exhibits should be correctly labeled.
  14. After judging, exhibitors must freshen or replace displays in first class condition for the duration of the Fair. Building supervisor has the authority to remove an exhibit from display if it becomes inappropriate due to lack of attention.
  15. Committees accepting exhibits in Cut Specimens and Plants Divisions are authorized to transfer entries into proper class and/or division. Committees may deny receipt of entries deemed not worthy of exhibits.
