JUDGING BEGINS: 8:00 a.m., Friday, September 12, 2008 starting with the Junior Horse Show
This Horse Show adheres to State Rules in Sections I-XI.
- Independent Junior exhibitors must enter an open junior class in the Junior Horse Show unless one is not available. See State Rule VII Rule 16.
- Exhibitor of horses in Livestock and Horse Show Department will comply with the provisions of the Horse Protection Act of 1970 (P.L. 91-540) and all rules adopted by the United States Secretary of Agriculture to carry out its provision.
- Unless other rules are specified, rules and definitions for conducting each class as contained in the rule book of the American Horse Show Association, Inc., will apply to this Horse Show, provided they do not conflict with any of the rules and regulations prescribed by the Division of Fairs and Expositions of the California Department of Food and Agriculture.
- NO MORE THAN ONE OWNER'S NAME ON EACH ENTRY FORM.
- THREE ENTRIES BY TWO OR MORE EXHIBITORS CONSTITUTE A MINIMUM HORSE SHOW CLASS. Where entries are less than minimum at the closing date of entry, the class shall be canceled. Canceled entries may be transferred without penalty into other classes in the same division. Should entries fall below the minimum after the closing date of entry, a class may be continued with premiums at the discretion of the management.
- For horse show purposes, the age of an individual on January 1st shall be maintained throughout the entire year. (For Junior Mount classes only.)
- The Exhibitor (owner) is limited to two cash awards. See State Rule Section IV Rule 6.
- Fair management may not retain prize money won in this Department longer than fourteen (14) days after the close of the Horse Show.
- ATTIRE:
- In English Pleasure classes, it is mandatory to wear suitable show hunter or saddle seat attire. Must wear approved helmets with chinstrap in place for jump classes.
- In Western classes, helmets recommended but no points will be deducted for not wearing one.
- POST ENTRIES AND PHONE ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
- Stalls are reserved for exhibitor entries. Balance allotted on first-come, first-served basis after entry closure. Stall rent does not include feed. Bedding for first day is provided.
- Senior horses to be on grounds by 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 12, 2008.
- If there are less than five entrants in OPEN classes, the class will be canceled.
